On the occasion of World Mental Health Day, Mind Plus Healthcare is organizing a music show to spread awareness for metal wellness in Punjab.
Child-Centered Play Therapy (CCPT) is one of the most effective and frequently used forms of play therapy. With its strong evidence base and wide applicability, it is one of the most developmentally relevant forms of therapeutic intervention for children. The skills of CCPT are also valuable when being used with children and their families as this approach serves as the foundation of Filial Therapy. Participants in this intensive CCPT training will learn about the rationale, goals, toy selection, specific play session basic skills and methods, recognition of play themes, structuring sessions, conducting therapy in schools and special issues involved in CCPT practice.

Mind Plus Healthcare along with SWITCH ON (city based theatre artists) staged a play, ‘Canvas of Life’, a play about emotional reflection, awareness and rebirth of oneself, on Oct 10,2015 (World Mental Health Day) at Guru Nanak Bhawan, Ludhiana.
The play featured a story of a family who go through emotional healing after interpersonal clashes between the characters.
The play elucidates the five competencies of Social Emotional Learning- Self awareness, self management, social awareness (empathy), interpersonal relationships and decision making skills.
A team of psychologists from Mindfirst, Pearson affiliated centre for CDM Testing successfully administered Career Decision Making Tests for students of classes 9th, 10th, 11th, 12th of the Army Public School, Tibri Cant, Gurdaspur on Feb 16,2014. The program began with a presentation informing the underlying concepts and applications of CDM followed then by a Q&A session. Further individual counseling sessions were arranged for a detailed interpretation of the reports with each student.
On 25th Nov 2014, Mindfirst team visited Amritsar Military Station where Dr (Mrs) Ravinder Kala, Director, Mindfirst lead an interactive workshop on Positive Lifestyle. The presentation focussed on strategies for improving physical health and psychological health and dealing with negative emotional states like stress, depression and anger. The present day alcohol and drug abuse related problems as well as interpersonal relationship issues were also discussed.
On 13th Nov 2014, Mindfirst team celebrated Children’s Day with the children of Nirdosh, a school run by an NGO, working for the development of differently abled children. Dr Kunal Kala, Psychiatrist and Ms Vijayeshwari, Psychologist interacted with the children and answered many questions related to positive life, wellbeing and career opportunities for differently abled children. An interactive session was held with the teachers about the psychological techniques to be used to maximise the potential of these children. Teachers were also given strategies to deal with the emotional and behavioural difficulties experienced by differently abled children. A drawing competition was held for the children and all children received prizes.
Vijayeshwari, Psychologist at Mindfirst conducted an interactive talk session on “Stress and Suicide” at Air force station, Halwara on 10th Sep 2014. The talk was conducted on “World Suicide Prevention Day” and focused on nature of stress, warning signs and strategies to cope with stress . The talk was conducted at Military Hospital premises at IAF Station, Halwara and was attended by the Air Force officers and their families.
Mindfirst conducted a seminar on “ADHD & Academic Problems” for the parents and teachers at Delhi Public School, Ludhiana. The seminar focussed on developing skills to manage difficult childhood behaviours at home and at school.
